This particular Study is of the sailfish chappe painted during the late-summer/fall 2025. Chappe was working through the composition and color palette decisions. There were a lot of questions he works through while making these fish such as: Is this a fish, or a painting? This lead to further simplification of the figure. What color should this be? this question was ultimately answered by making 2 fish painting. a blue and pink and a yellow/green and pink.
