This particular Study is of the Wahoo Chappe painted on a 5-6  Foot surfboard. For this piece chappe knew his color palette right from the first study he did in his sketchbook. The process for this piece was about figuring out how to arrange the colors he had already made up his mind to use. This was an exercise to use an analogous color palette to create a very smooth and easy going feeling the felt natural. Additionally he was aware this color palette belongs to a different fish - however his reply when confronted about it still is "I've never painted a subject the color you see in real life"
